Home Charger Installations
The installation of home chargers can seem complicated but, here at Chargebase, we aim to make this easy. So, here are the main steps in your installation…

Surveying your home
We will survey your home from photographs you provide to ensure that your charger can be safely connected to your home. Where necessary, we will contact your electrical network provider to gain authorisation for your charger to be connected (a legal requirement).
We will also advise you of any non-standard costs before you pay. The price we quote is the price you pay – no extra costs!

Installing your charger
This involves fitting your charger to your home and running up to 10 metres of safe and immensely strong cabling to your fuse box. The cabling is correctly connected to your home according to the latest regulations to ensure that it is as safe as possible. we will fully test your charger to ensure it is 100% ready to go.

Connecting To Your Home
Your charger connects to your fuse box. If there is a space to do so the connection is made and a suitable safety cut off device is fitted by us. If not, you will need a Secondary Consumer Unit installed to allow us to connect your charger safely.

Load Management
Not all homes have enough spare capacity for their chargers, even with a 100A supply to them. In these cases our chargers can be equipped with load management technology to get around this. Each one uses a special monitoring clamp (see left) to make sure there is always enough power for your charger and, if not, they can turn themselves down until there is – clever stuff!
We will also advise you of any non-standard costs before you pay. The price we quote is the price you pay – no extra costs!

Your electrical certificate
We will provide you with an electrical certificate for your EV charger installation to show that it has been safely installed to the latest electrical regulations. All our chargers also meet strict government regulations and safety standards.

Your Guarantee
We will guarantee your charger and installation for 3 years.

One Last Thing
We are not only a specialist EV charger installation company, we are also a home and commercial electrical company. Because of this, often our customers ask us to undertake additional electrical work in their homes whilst we install their chargers. If you would like any additional work completed by us please let us know.
